Chicken PTH (Parathyroid hormone) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of parathyroid hormone (PTH) in chicken samples. Using a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection, it is suited to research in veterinary medicine, poultry science, and endocrinology, particularly studies of calcium homeostasis, bone metabolism, and mineral ion regulation in chickens. PTH is a key regulator of calcium and phosphate balance, and abnormal PTH levels are associated with metabolic bone diseases including osteoporosis and hyperparathyroidism.

The assay has a sensitivity of 1.875 pg/mL and a working range of 3.125–200 pg/mL. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Detection relies on TMB substrate development with absorbance read at 450 nm after stop solution is added. The workflow consists of plate and reagent equilibration, primary incubation (90 minutes at 37°C), biotin-labeled detection antibody binding (60 minutes at 37°C), HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding (30 minutes at 37°C), color development (10–20 minutes in the dark), and immediate absorbance measurement. Kits are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Validation data include linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions: serum 88–97%, 83–101%, 80–96%; EDTA plasma 89–104%, 92–95%, 80–100%; heparin plasma 86–101%, 83–100%, 80–95%. Recovery ranges were 89–101% in serum (average 94%), 86–105% in EDTA plasma (average 96%), and 85–105% in heparin plasma (average 97%).
