Chicken OPG (Osteoprotegerin) ELISA Kit

Designed for accurate detection of osteoprotegerin (OPG) in chicken samples, this sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie employs a colorimetric readout and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit supports research into bone metabolism, where OPG acts as a key regulator of bone remodeling and maintenance and is implicated in bone-related conditions such as osteoporosis and arthritis.

The assay has a reported sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a measuring range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (82-100%), EDTA plasma (82-105%), and heparin plasma (82-100%). Spike-and-recovery testing yielded average recoveries of 97% in serum, 97% in EDTA plasma, and 99% in heparin plasma. Unopened kits are stored at 2-8°C with a stated shelf life of 12 months.

The workflow uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody followed by HRP-Streptavidin binding and TMB substrate development, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Key incubation steps include 90 minutes at 37°C for antigen binding, 60 minutes for detection antibody, and 30 minutes for HRP-Streptavidin, with TMB colour development carried out in the dark for 10-20 minutes.
