The MDH1 gene encodes the cytoplasmic isoform of malate dehydrogenase, an enzyme that catalyzes the reversible NAD+/NADH-dependent interconversion of malate and oxaloacetate in the cytosol. This chicken-specific Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method and is supplied as a 96-well microplate format, enabling quantitative measurement of MDH1 protein in serum and plasma samples.
Typical applications include metabolism research, oxidative stress studies, and investigation of the citric acid cycle in avian models. The kit is restricted to in vitro research use only and components should be stored refrigerated at 2-8 °C to preserve antibody and standard stability. Each kit contains a precoated microplate, detection antibody, standards, and reagents sufficient to run the complete 96 assays format.
