Description

From Assay Genie, this colorimetric Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the precise measurement of chicken interleukin-4 (IL-4) levels in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. IL-4 is a key cytokine that plays a crucial role in regulating immune responses and inflammation in chickens, where it is involved in modulating allergic reactions, promoting antibody production, and influencing T cell differentiation. The kit is intended as a tool for studying immune function, investigating disease progression, and evaluating therapeutic interventions in poultry health and disease management.

The kit is run as a double-antibody sandwich ELISA with readout by absorbance at 450 nm following TMB color development. Reported analytical performance includes a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a working range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is documented at 85–104%, 83–98% and 82–99% for serum (n = 5); 91–104%, 87–99% and 82–99% for EDTA plasma (n = 5); and 85–102%, 84–100% and 82–101% for heparin plasma (n = 5). Average spike recoveries are 94% for serum (range 85–102%), 95% for EDTA plasma (range 85–104%) and 93% for heparin plasma (range 86–103%). Components are stable for 12 months at 2–8°C, with strips and lyophilized standard additionally suitable for 12 months at −20°C.

The kit is supplied with a dismountable pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labeled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate (SABC), TMB substrate, sample dilution buffer, antibody dilution buffer, SABC dilution buffer, stop solution, 25X wash buffer, plate sealer and a technical manual. The associated UniProt identifier is Q5W4U1; reported synonyms include IL-4, Interleukin 4, IL4, BCGF-1, BCGF1, BSF-1 and BSF1.
