Chicken Glucagon ELISA Kit

A competitive immunoassay from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of glucagon in chicken-derived samples. Glucagon is a peptide hormone central to blood glucose regulation through hepatic glucose mobilisation, and its dysregulation is implicated in metabolic disorders including diabetes, making accurate quantification valuable in endocrinology and metabolic research.

The assay uses an antigen-coated competitive ELISA format with a biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) signal amplification, and TMB substrate for colorimetric readout at 450 nm. Reported sensitivity is 0.938 pg/mL with a working range of 1.563-100 pg/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Kits should be stored sealed at 2-8°C and must not be cryopreserved.

Linearity and recovery have been validated for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. At serial 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions, linearity ranged from 80-105% across matrices (n=10). Mean spike-recoveries were 96% for serum (range 87-104%), 97% for EDTA plasma (range 90-105%), and 95% for heparin plasma (range 85-100%). The procedure involves a 45-minute sample and biotin-antibody incubation at 37°C, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and a stop step prior to absorbance measurement.
