The CEBPZ (CCAAT/Enhancer-Binding Protein Zeta) Transcription Factor Activity Assay from Assay Genie quantifies the DNA-binding activity of this nuclear transcription regulator in nuclear and cell lysates. The kit has been validated to detect CEBPZ binding activity in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of transcriptional regulation in basic and translational research workflows.

CEBPZ, also known as CBF (CCAAT-binding factor), couples chromatin remodeling with RNA Polymerase I machinery at ribosomal RNA gene promoters and contributes to ribosome biogenesis, cell proliferation, and stress response signaling. Researchers commonly apply this assay to monitor transcription factor activation following mitogenic, cytokine, or genotoxic stimuli, to compare CEBPZ activity between treated and untreated cell populations, and to validate knockdown or overexpression phenotypes prior to chromatin immunoprecipitation experiments.

The microplate-based kit provides 96 Assays per pack. Each well is pre-coated with oligonucleotides containing a CEBPZ consensus binding motif; activated transcription factor in the nuclear extract is captured and detected with a specific antibody and chromogenic reporter. Nuclear extracts are typically prepared from cultured cells or fresh frozen tissue, protein concentration should be quantified beforehand, and aliquots should be stored frozen to preserve DNA-binding activity. Reagent components are kept refrigerated at 4 degrees C and protected from light, and the kit is intended for research use only.
