Description

A Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the qualitative measurement of CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein zeta (CEBPZ) in cell-based assays. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm in an indirect ELISA format, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. CEBPZ is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies. The assay is intended for use with adherent cells and provides a lysate-free, high-throughput approach to determining the relative CEBPZ protein expression profile in cultured cells, including screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators.

For data normalization, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The kit is reactive with human samples, belongs to the Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling research area, and is stored at 4°C with a stability of 6 months.

CEBPZ is a transcription factor (molecular weight 120,974 Da) of the CBF/MAK21 family that stimulates transcription from the HSP70 promoter. It functions in DNA binding and in the positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoters, playing roles in cellular response to environmental stimuli, cell growth, differentiation, and inflammation. Dysregulation of CEBPZ has been linked to cancer, autoimmune disorders, and metabolic syndromes. Database identifiers for the target include Gene ID 10153, UniProt ID Q03701, OMIM 612828, and Unigene Hs.135406, with chromosomal location 2p22.2.
