CDK5R2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the detection of CDK5R2 (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 5 Regulatory Subunit 2) in cell lysates. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which CDK5R2 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction at 450 nm upon substrate addition.

Designed for use with adherent cells, the kit provides qualitative measurement of relative CDK5R2 protein expression in cultured cells and can be used to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalisation, and Crystal Violet staining is provided to determine cell density. The assay has a dynamic range of >5000 cells and is reactive with human samples.

CDK5R2 is a neuron-specific activator of CDK5 kinase, associated with cell cycle regulation and proliferation, with abnormal expression linked to cancer, neurological disorders, and diabetes. The gene maps to chromosomal location 2q35 (Gene ID: 8941; UniProt ID: Q13319).
