CDK5 (Phospho-Tyr15)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed to detect and quantify CDK5 phosphorylated at tyrosine 15 in cell lysates using a colorimetric readout. It is intended for use with adherent cells and shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples, with detection performed at 450 nm.

The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which phosphorylated CDK5 (Phospho-Tyr15) is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody and catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit can be used to measure the relative amounts of phosphorylated CDK5 in cultured cells and to screen the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on CDK5 phosphorylation. The reported dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells.

For data normalization, an anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalized to cell amounts. The kit supports research into the role of CDK5 phosphorylation in cell cycle regulation, neuronal development, and neurodegenerative disease mechanisms.
