CD71/TfR Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a sensitive, lysate-free, high-throughput method for detecting CD71/TfR protein expression directly in cultured adherent cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which CD71/TfR-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyse a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm. The kit is validated for human and mouse samples and supports a dynamic range of > 5000 cells, making it suitable for measuring relative CD71/TfR levels as well as screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators.

Normalisation is supported by a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody included as an internal positive control, along with a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method for determining cell density. The CD71/TfR target, also known as the transferrin receptor (transferrin receptor protein 1, 84,871 Da), is a cell surface receptor required for cellular iron uptake via receptor-mediated endocytosis, with relevance to iron metabolism, cellular growth, and research into conditions such as anemia, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases.

The kit is intended for cell biology research, with storage at 4°C for 6 months.
