CBX5 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

A Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the accurate detection of CBX5 levels in cell lysates and tissue extracts. The assay is configured for Human and Mouse reactivity and delivers a Colorimetric 450 nm readout using an indirect ELISA format, in which CBX5-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction on substrate addition.

CBX5, also known as chromobox homolog 5, is a heterochromatin protein involved in chromatin remodeling and gene expression regulation, with dysregulation linked to cancer and developmental disorders. The kit can be used to measure relative CBX5 amounts in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density after the HRP colorimetric step.
