Description

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the qualitative measurement of Catenin-beta (CTNNB1) protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which target-specific primary antibodies capture Catenin-beta and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is lysate-free and suited to high-throughput screening, including evaluating the impact of siRNA, inhibitors, and other treatments or activators on Catenin-beta levels.

The kit is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, with a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. Detection is colorimetric at 450 nm and the assay is supplied in a 96-Well Microplate format. Storage is at 4°C with a stability of 6 Months. To support normalisation, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density after the colorimetric measurement.

β-Catenin is a key downstream effector in the Wnt signalling pathway and a regulator of cell adhesion. Because dysregulation of β-Catenin has been implicated in a variety of cancers and developmental disorders, this assay is positioned for research into the role of β-Catenin in cellular processes and disease mechanisms.
