Description

This Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate detection of Catenin-alpha1 levels in cell lysates and tissue samples, offering high sensitivity and specificity for reliable and reproducible results across a range of research applications. The kit targets Catenin-alpha1 (gene symbols CTNNA1/CTNNA2; UniProt ID: P35221; Gene ID: 1495/1496), a protein involved in cell adhesion and signaling pathways that plays a critical role in development, tissue maintenance, and disease progression.

The assay is a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive Cell-Based ELISA that detects Catenin-alpha1 protein expression profiles directly in cells. It can be used to measure the relative amounts of Catenin-alpha1 in cultured cells and to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on Catenin-alpha1. Qualitative determination of Catenin-alpha1 concentration is achieved through an indirect ELISA format: Catenin-alpha1 is captured by Catenin-alpha1-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, with the bound HRP catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

The kit is reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, and uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm. The recommended storage condition is 4 °C with a stability of 6 months. The sample type is adherent cells. Because the assay is qualitative, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values. In addition, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalised to cell amounts and correcting for plating differences.
