Description

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the detection of phosphorylated Tyrosine 321 on the Casein Kinase I alpha protein. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method measured at 450 nm and is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. It is intended for use with adherent cells in a lysate-free, high-throughput workflow.

The assay employs an indirect ELISA format, in which the target is captured by phospho-specific primary antibodies and detected using HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided to determine cell density for further normalisation.

Categorised as phospho-specific and aimed at the Cell Cycle research area, the kit supports studies of Casein Kinase I alpha, a ubiquitous CK1-family protein kinase with a molecular weight of 37,567 Da that participates in cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, and cell signalling. Phosphorylation at Tyrosine 321 is relevant to research into cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and related conditions.
