Quantitative measurement of vascular endothelial cadherin (CD144) in canine specimens is supported by this immunoassay from Assay Genie, supplied as a complete 96 Assays kit.

VE-Cadherin is the principal cadherin of adherens junctions between vascular endothelial cells. It maintains endothelial barrier integrity, controls monolayer permeability, and regulates angiogenic sprouting. Soluble fragments shed from damaged or remodeling junctions have been investigated as circulating biomarkers of endothelial activation, sepsis-related vascular injury, and tumor angiogenesis in canine disease models.

Each kit is supplied with pre-coated assay plate wells, recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, chromogenic substrate solution, wash buffer, and stop reagent. The procedure follows a capture-and-detection workflow with an absorbance-based readout on a standard microplate reader. Quantitative results are interpolated from a standard curve generated with the recombinant canine VE-Cadherin calibrators included in the kit.

Component handling: lyophilized standards and antibodies should be stored refrigerated until first use; reconstituted working solutions should be aliquoted and frozen at -20 degrees C or lower to limit freeze-thaw cycles; and the chromogenic substrate should be protected from prolonged light exposure. This canine-reactive assay is intended for research use only and supports translational, comparative, and veterinary cardiovascular research.
