Veterinary and comparative-medicine researchers use quantitative immunoassays to measure canine matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9), a zinc-dependent endopeptidase involved in connective tissue remodeling, angiogenesis, and inflammatory signaling. Elevated MMP9 in dogs has been associated in published studies with connective tissue disorders, periodontal inflammation, mast cell neoplasia, and cardiac remodeling, making quantitative measurement valuable for biomarker discovery and therapeutic monitoring. This immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured as a 96-assay microplate kit and is supplied as a complete package containing pre-coated wells, calibrated reference standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent. Specimens from dogs, including serum samples and matched plasma draws, are validated inputs, and laboratories can also evaluate other bodily matrices containing measurable MMP9. Standard incubation steps are performed at room temperature, and the assay is intended for research use only.
