Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the precise detection of kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), also known as TIM-1, in canine samples. It uses a colorimetric, double-antibody sandwich method with a reported sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Accepted sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, supporting veterinary research into canine renal function and kidney disorders.

The assay proceeds through plate and reagent equilibration, a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, and HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding at 37°C for 30 minutes. TMB substrate is then added for colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, after which stop solution is applied and absorbance is read at 450 nm.

Reported linearity ranges (n=5) for serum are 86–105% at 1:2, 87–103% at 1:4, and 85–104% at 1:8; for EDTA plasma 83–96%, 84–101%, and 84–101%; and for heparin plasma 82–95%, 81–90%, and 82–94%. Average recovery is 96% for serum, 95% for EDTA plasma, and 95% for heparin plasma. The kit should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
