Measuring circulating canine Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1 (ICAM-1), this 96 Assays research ELISA kit from Assay Genie supports quantitative work on vascular inflammation, leukocyte trafficking, and immune-mediated disease in dogs.

ICAM-1 is a heavily glycosylated ~90 kDa type I transmembrane protein and a key member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It mediates adhesion between leukocytes and the vascular endothelium through binding to integrins LFA-1 and Mac-1, and it is implicated in the pathophysiology of immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, septic shock, osteoarthritis, and certain canine neoplasias. Because circulating ICAM-1 rises during active inflammation, it has become a useful biomarker for translational veterinary research and comparative immunological studies.

Each kit provides all reagents required to generate a standard curve and quantify canine ICAM-1, with the workflow optimized for in vitro research using cell culture supernatants and tissue homogenates. The 96 Assays format makes the kit well-suited to studies running multiple canine subjects, time-course samples, or matched case-control panels. Intra- and inter-assay reproducibility has been verified during quality control testing, and the assay shows minimal cross-reactivity with ICAM-1 from non-target species.
