The Canine Gastrin (GT) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a competitive inhibition immunoassay developed for quantitative measurement of gastrin in canine samples. Gastrin is a 17-amino acid peptide hormone secreted by G cells in the gastric antrum that stimulates parietal cell acid secretion and is widely used as a biomarker in veterinary gastroenterology research, including studies of gastric ulceration, gastrinoma, and reflux disease in dogs.

Each microplate kit contains a pre-coated antibody plate, assay buffer, biotinylated detection reagent, HRP conjugate, wash buffer, chromogenic substrate, stop solution, and lyophilized recombinant standards. The competitive assay format uses a 50 ul sample volume per well and is calibrated to detect gastrin across a low pg/mL working range. Researchers should equilibrate all reagents to room temperature before use, aliquot the conjugate to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store the kit refrigerated protected from light for the stated shelf life.

The workflow follows a standard competitive ELISA protocol: canine samples and calibrators are co-incubated with enzyme-labeled gastrin in antibody-coated wells, washed, and developed with chromogenic substrate. The reaction is read on a microplate reader and gastrin concentrations are interpolated from the standard curve. This product is supplied for research use only and is not intended for clinical diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
