Connexin 43 (CX43) is a 43 kDa transmembrane gap junction protein predominating in canine cardiac and epithelial tissues, encoded by the GJA1 gene and essential for direct cell-to-cell communication. Phosphorylation of the C-terminal tail regulates channel gating and turnover, linking CX43 to arrhythmia remodeling, astrocyte signaling, lens transparency, and keratinocyte migration during wound repair. This Assay Genie kit supports quantitative measurement of CX43 in tissue homogenates and cell lysates, aiding research in cardiology, glioma biology, dermatology, and gap junction pharmacology. Suited to veterinary and translational studies of connexin expression and remodeling under disease or pharmacological challenge. Reagents should be kept refrigerated; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
