Veterinary coagulation research relies on accurate measurement of Factor VIII (F8), the plasma glycoprotein cofactor whose functional deficiency underlies canine Hemophilia A. This immunoassay from Assay Genie provides a quantitative tool for evaluating F8 antigen levels in dog plasma, supporting studies of inherited bleeding disorders, hepatic protein synthesis, and acquired coagulopathies linked to immune-mediated disease or disseminated intravascular coagulation.

Plasma collected into citrate anticoagulant is added directly to the pre-coated microplate wells, after which a labelled detection antibody is introduced to complete the capture format that binds F8 at the plate surface. Following substrate development, absorbance readings are compared against a standard curve generated from the calibrators supplied with the kit. Each kit contains reagents sufficient for 96 determinations, with all buffers, antibodies, and standards pre-prepared and ready to use. The protocol is intended for research use only, supporting bench workflows that pair standard laboratory incubation and washing equipment with plate-based absorbance readout.
