This canine-specific immunoassay kit from Assay Genie is built around the quantitative detection of Cluster of Differentiation 40 Ligand (CD40L), a type II transmembrane glycoprotein in the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand superfamily. CD40L, also known as CD154, is expressed chiefly on activated CD4-positive T lymphocytes and engages the CD40 receptor on B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells to drive immunoglobulin class switching, germinal center formation, and downstream cytokine release in canine immune responses.

The kit supports veterinary immunology research, vaccine adjuvant development, and studies of inflammatory and autoimmune disease in dogs. Soluble CD40L is released from activated T cells and platelets and has been implicated in transplant rejection, atherosclerosis, and systemic lupus research, making the marker relevant across canine models of those conditions. Specimens processed with this product can include serum samples, plasma samples, tissue homogenate preparations, and related body fluid preparations collected under an approved animal-use protocol.

The format provides capacity for 96 assays in a pre-coated microplate configuration, with capture and detection reagents, calibrator, assay buffer, wash concentrate, substrate, and stop solution supplied so the laboratory only needs to provide consumables and a compatible plate reader. Researchers are advised to aliquot samples ahead of testing, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the stored specimen, and keep kit components at the storage temperature specified in the product insert. Each pack ships with a printed protocol, plate sealers, and quality-control data so laboratories can validate performance on their own instruments before running study cohorts.
