Built around a competitive immunoassay format, this Assay Genie kit enables quantitative detection of cholecystokinin (CCK) peptide in canine-origin research specimens. CCK is a gastrointestinal hormone secreted by intestinal I-cells following nutrient ingestion, with established roles in gallbladder contraction, pancreatic enzyme secretion, gastric emptying, and postprandial satiety signaling. In canine research models, CCK quantification supports investigation of appetite regulation, dietary responses, obesity mechanisms, and gastrointestinal physiology.

Specimens accommodated include serum-derived samples, plasma-derived samples, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants. The competitive architecture is well matched to small linear peptides such as CCK-8 and related sulfated variants, which can be difficult to capture with conventional two-site capture immunoassays. Each kit provides 96 assays configured in a microplate format, supporting cohort-scale studies and longitudinal sampling protocols.

Typical research applications include profiling postprandial CCK release in response to dietary fat and protein content, examining satiety hormone dynamics in canine feeding behavior trials, characterizing gastrointestinal peptide responses in disease models, and supporting translational studies linking gut-derived signaling peptides to feeding behavior and metabolic outcomes.
