Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit uses a double-antibody format for the quantitative measurement of adiponectin in canine samples. It is intended for research use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit employs a colorimetric detection method based on TMB substrate development, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

The assay delivers a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Reported linearity for diluted samples falls between 81-105% across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma, while spike-and-recovery averages range from 93-96%. The procedure involves a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, and HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, followed by 10-20 minutes of color development in the dark. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Adiponectin is described as a key adipokine involved in regulating metabolism, inflammation, and insulin sensitivity, with dysregulation linked to obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions in canines. The kit supports studies into the metabolic and inflammatory status of dogs and may aid research into canine obesity and related metabolic disorders.
