Description

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated CAMK4 at threonine residues 196 and 200. The phospho-specific assay uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm in an indirect ELISA format, providing a convenient, lysate-free workflow for analyzing CaMK4 phosphorylation and expression in cultured adherent cells.

The kit is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples and supports a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, making it suitable for high-throughput screening of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), and activators. An anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody is included as an internal positive control to normalize target absorbance values, while a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step allows normalization of absorbance to cell density to correct for plating differences.

CAMK4 (calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV) is a serine/threonine protein kinase (EC 2.7.11.17) implicated in transcriptional regulation, neuronal activity, and synaptic plasticity, and is applied in immunology research. Database information associated with the target includes Gene ID 814, UniProt Q16566, OMIM 114080, and Unigene Hs.591269, with the human ortholog located at chromosomal position 5q21.3 and a reported molecular weight of 51,926 Da.
