CaMK4 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A cell-based immunoassay from Assay Genie designed for the colorimetric detection of CaMK4 (Calcium/Calmodulin Dependent Kinase IV) protein in cultured cells. The kit provides a lysate-free workflow that allows researchers to measure relative CaMK4 expression directly in adherent cells, making it suitable for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on CaMK4 levels.

Detection is achieved through an indirect ELISA format in which CaMK4-specific primary antibodies are captured and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colour reaction that is read at 450 nm. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used after the colour reaction to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The kit is reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples and is positioned within the Immunology research area.

According to the manufacturer, the assay has a dynamic range of greater than 5000 cells, is supplied in a microplate format, and is stable for 6 months when stored at 4°C.
