CaMK1-alpha Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the qualitative measurement of CaMK1-alpha protein expression directly in cultured cells, without the need for lysate preparation. It enables researchers to assess relative CaMK1-alpha levels in response to various treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, or activators, supporting studies of cellular signalling pathways that involve cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis.

The kit is reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples and uses a Colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm, with a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. It uses a 96-Well Microplate format and is intended to be stored at 4 °C with a stability of 6 Months. The kit is suitable for use with Adherent Cells.

Detection is achieved through an indirect ELISA format in which CaMK1-alpha is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colour reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density so that absorbance values can be normalised to cell amounts.
