Calmodulin Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Cell-Based ELISA Kit for qualitative detection of calmodulin protein expression in cultured cells. Using an indirect ELISA format, the assay captures calmodulin with target-specific primary antibodies and detects bound antibody via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies, producing a colorimetric signal read at 450 nm. The format supports adherent cell samples and, according to the manufacturer, can also be applied to cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and tissue homogenates.

The workflow accommodates screening of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), and activators for their effects on calmodulin. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalization, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to adjust absorbance values for cell density. The kit is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples and is specified for a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. The 96-well microplate format is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months.
