c-PLA2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

This colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a sensitive, lysate-free, high-throughput assay for detecting and quantifying Cytosolic Phospholipase A2 (C-PLA2) protein expression in cultured cells, as well as in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. The kit uses an indirect ELISA format in which C-PLA2 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected using HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

Designed for adherent cells, the assay is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples and has a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. Detection is read at 450 nm. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density. The kit is stored at 4°C for 6 months.

The kit supports qualitative measurement of C-PLA2 in cultured cells and can be used to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on C-PLA2 expression. It is suited to research on the enzyme's involvement in inflammatory responses and lipid signalling, and to applications in drug discovery, biomarker development, and basic science. The target protein is encoded by the PLA2G4A gene (Gene ID: 5321; UniProt ID: P47712).
