Description

Designed for the qualitative detection of phosphorylated c-Jun at tyrosine 170, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a lysate-free, high-throughput workflow for measuring c-Jun phosphorylation in adherent cell cultures. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. With a dynamic range of > 5000 cells, the kit supports measurement of relative phosphorylation levels and the screening of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on c-Jun phosphorylation status.

The indirect ELISA format employs c-Jun (Phospho-Tyr170)-specific primary antibodies in conjunction with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies to generate the colorimetric signal. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell stain is provided for determining cell density, allowing results to be adjusted for plating differences.

Phosphorylation of c-Jun at Tyr170 is implicated in the regulation of gene expression, cell growth, and apoptosis, and is relevant to research in cancer, inflammation, and neurodegenerative disorders. The target is encoded by the JUN gene (Gene ID: 3725; UniProt ID: P05412), and the kit is classified under the Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling research area.
