Description

Assay Genie provides a cell-based ELISA kit designed for the quantitative detection of C/EBP-epsilon (CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein epsilon) in cell lysates, with reactivity specific to human samples. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format, offering a lysate-free, high-throughput workflow suitable for cell-based research, drug discovery studies, and high-throughput screening.

C/EBPε is a bZIP transcription factor of the C/EBP subfamily that regulates gene expression in processes such as differentiation, proliferation, and immune response, and its dysregulation has been implicated in inflammatory diseases, metabolic disorders, and cancer. The assay employs an indirect ELISA format in which C/EBP-epsilon is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells per well, and the kit is intended for use with adherent cells.

For data normalization, the kit includes a monoclonal anti-human GAPDH antibody to serve as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method to determine cell density after the colorimetric read-out. Storage stability is specified at 4 °C for 6 months. The target protein, encoded by the CEBPE gene (Gene ID: 1053; UniProt ID: Q15744; chromosomal location 14q11.2), has a molecular weight of 30,603 Da and is associated with Specific Granule Deficiency when mutated.
