C/EBP-alpha Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

This Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the sensitive detection of C/EBP-alpha levels in cell cultures. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which target-specific primary antibodies capture C/EBP-alpha while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. It is described as a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive assay for measuring the relative amounts of C/EBP-alpha in cultured cells, and is suitable for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, or activators on the target.

C/EBP-alpha is a bZIP transcription factor that regulates genes involved in cell differentiation, proliferation and metabolism, with dysregulation implicated in cancer, diabetes and obesity. The kit shows reactivity with Human, Mouse and Rat samples and is intended for use with adherent cells. It is supplied in a 96-Well Microplate format with colorimetric detection at 450 nm, a dynamic range of greater than 5000 cells, and storage at 4 °C for 6 months.

Two normalisation methods are provided: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH serves as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be adjusted to cell amounts and plating differences to be corrected.
