Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative detection of BUD31 protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format, in which BUD31 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, measured at 450 nm.

The kit is suitable for Human, Mouse, and Rat samples and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. It can be used to measure relative amounts of BUD31 in cultured cells and to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors, or activators on BUD31 expression. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalization, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density. The procedure is lysate-free and works with adherent cells.

BUD31 is a 17 kDa spliceosome and transcription factor located in nuclear chromatin, the nucleoplasm, the nucleus, and the spliceosome. It participates in nuclear mRNA splicing via the spliceosome and in regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoters. Dysregulation of BUD31 has been implicated in cancer and other diseases, supporting its value as a research biomarker. The kit falls within the Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling research area and is stored at 4°C with a 6-month stability period.
