Bovine Vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is intended for the accurate quantitative measurement of bovine Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGFA) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric ELISA detection method. The kit specifically recognises natural and recombinant bovine VEGFA and is supplied for research use only.

The manufacturer's specifications report a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 13.2pg/mL. Intra-assay precision is 7.5% CV and inter-assay precision is 11.7% CV. Linearity in serum is shown as 98-107% (1:2), 101-104% (1:4), 99-106% (1:8) and 100-106% (1:16), with EDTA plasma at 100-105%, 100-108%, 100-105% and 99-107% across the same dilutions, and heparin plasma at 97-109%, 99-106%, 95-110% and 100-105%. Mean recovery is 103% (range 99-106%) from serum and 102% (range 96-107%) from plasma.

VEGFA is a heparin-binding growth factor active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth; it induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and increases blood vessel permeability. It signals through the FLT1/VEGFR1 and KDR/VEGFR2 receptors. The protein is secreted but typically remains associated with cells or to the extracellular matrix until released by heparin. Belonging to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family, VEGFA is the focus of cancer research, with its dysregulation implicated in cancer, cardiovascular disorders and inflammatory conditions.
