Bovine Thromboxane B2 (TXB2) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this competitive ELISA kit enables quantitative measurement of thromboxane B2 in bovine samples. Thromboxane B2 is an inactive metabolite of thromboxane A2 that is almost completely cleared in the urine; while it is not itself involved in platelet activation and aggregation in case of a wound, its precursor thromboxane A2 is. Thromboxane A2 synthesis is the target of the drug aspirin, which inhibits the COX-1 enzyme (the source of thromboxane A2 in platelets), making thromboxane B2 a useful biomarker in cardiovascular and inflammatory research.

The assay is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and recognises both natural and recombinant thromboxane B2. It has a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 5.7 pg/mL. The kit is for research use only.
