Bovine Serotonin N-acetyltransferase (AANAT) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of serotonin N-acetyltransferase (AANAT) in bovine samples. The kit detects both natural and recombinant bovine serotonin N-acetyltransferase and is intended for research use only. AANAT is the penultimate enzyme in melatonin synthesis, catalysing the N-acetylation of serotonin into N-acetylserotonin and controlling the night/day rhythm of melatonin production in the pineal gland.

Validated sample types include serum, tissue homogenates, plasma, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed for bovine specimens. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and the target protein localises to the cytoplasm. The kit has a detection range of 0.625–40 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.270 ng/mL. Performance data for intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery are provided with each lot. The kit is supplied with dismountable 8×12 microplate strips, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, along with a detailed protocol.
