Bovine PRL (Prolactin) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of prolactin in bovine samples, this competitive ELISA from Assay Genie is a colorimetric assay with a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.781–50 ng/mL. The product literature describes prolactin as a key hormone involved in lactation, reproduction and behaviour in cattle, with dysregulation linked to reproductive disorders and health issues in dairy cows. The kit is reactive with bovine serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and should be stored sealed at 2–8°C; do not cryopreserve.

Reported recovery ranges are 90–105% for serum (average 96%), 86–102% for EDTA plasma (average 97%) and 85–105% for heparin plasma (average 96%) (n = 10 per matrix). Dilutional linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 is reported as 86–102%, 89–104% and 90–104% for serum; 82–97%, 86–98% and 91–101% for EDTA plasma; and 81–96%, 93–100% and 84–98% for heparin plasma. Sample preparation guidance is provided for serum (allow to clot, centrifuge at 1000 × g for 20 minutes), plasma (EDTA anticoagulant, centrifuge at 1000 × g for 15 minutes at 2–8°C), cell culture supernatant, cell lysate, tissue homogenate and other liquid samples.
