Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the accurate quantification of bovine platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase (PLA2G7) levels in bovine serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It reacts with bovine samples and detects both natural and recombinant bovine PLA2G7, supporting work in immunology research.

PLA2G7 is an enzyme involved in lipid metabolism and inflammation, modulating platelet-activating factor (PAF) by hydrolyzing the sn-2 ester bond to yield the biologically inactive lyso-PAF, with specificity for substrates bearing a short residue at the sn-2 position; the protein is secreted to the extracellular space and has a molecular weight of 50,133 Da (UniProt Q28017). Also known by synonyms including 1-alkyl-2-acetylglycerophosphocholine esterase, 2-acetyl-1-alkylglycerophosphocholine esterase, LDL-associated phospholipase A2, PAF 2-acylhydrolase, and LDL-PLA(2), the target has been linked in research to conditions such as atherosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammatory disorders.

The assay covers a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.49ng/mL. For research use only.
