Bovine PISD (Phosphatidylserine decarboxylase proenzyme) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody kit from Assay Genie designed for the sensitive detection of PISD (Phosphatidylserine decarboxylase proenzyme) levels in bovine samples. The assay targets PISD, a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylethanolamine—an essential component of cell membranes—and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Research applications include investigation into pathological states in which PISD dysregulation has been implicated, such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and an assay range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 85-97% / 83-101% / 82-100% for serum (n=5), 88-102% / 83-100% / 81-95% for EDTA plasma (n=5) and 95-104% / 83-96% / 80-100% for heparin plasma (n=5). Spike-recovery ranges and averages are 87-103% (94%) for serum, 97-101% (99%) for EDTA plasma and 86-105% (93%) for heparin plasma.

The protocol begins with reagent equilibration to room temperature, followed by primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution is added. Unopened kit components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months; microplate strips and the lyophilised standard may additionally be stored at -20°C for 12 months in a sealed foil bag with desiccant.
