Bovine PEDF (Pigment Epithelium-Derived Factor) circulates in cattle as a 50 kDa secreted glycoprotein encoded by the SERPINF1 gene, and it has emerged as a biomarker of interest in research spanning reproductive biology, retinal pathophysiology, metabolic regulation, and inflammatory signaling. Assay Genie offers a microplate-based quantitative immunoassay kit specifically configured to measure this factor in bovine samples using a matched antibody pair capture-and-detection format.

Each kit is supplied with components sufficient for 96 individual determinations, including pre-coated microplate wells, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent. The workflow follows standard ELISA principles: standards and unknown samples are added to wells, followed by detection antibody, enzyme conjugate, and a chromogenic substrate that produces a measurable signal proportional to PEDF concentration in the original specimen.

Intended strictly for in vitro research use, the kit serves studies where investigators profile PEDF concentrations in bovine models of angiogenesis inhibition, neuroprotection, lipid metabolism, or ovarian follicle development. Samples should be aliquoted and stored refrigerated prior to assay to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and the microplate format supports processing of multiple replicates per run for generating robust standard curves and quality controls within a single experiment.
