Bovine Oncostatin-M (OSM) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of bovine Oncostatin-M (OSM) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Oncostatin-M is a secreted cytokine involved in the regulation of immune responses, inflammation and cell growth, and has been implicated in tissue repair, cancer and inflammatory disease processes. The kit is targeted at immunology research.

The assay has a detection range of 78–5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39 pg/mL, with specificity for natural and recombinant bovine Oncostatin-M. The microplate workflow uses substrate and stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm using a microplate reader. For research use only.

Oncostatin-M functions as a growth regulator that inhibits proliferation of several tumour cell lines, modulates cytokines such as IL-6, G-CSF and GM-CSF from endothelial cells, and signals through both type I (LIPR and IL6ST) and type II (OSMR and IL6ST) receptor complexes.
