Measuring the bovine inhibitor of NF-κB signaling is straightforward with this Assay Genie ELISA kit. The assay quantifies NFKBIA, also called IκBα or nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor, alpha, in cattle-derived research samples. NFKBIA is a 36 kDa cytoplasmic anchoring protein that retains NF-κB transcription factors in an inactive state; upon pro-inflammatory signaling, the IKK complex phosphorylates NFKBIA, targeting it for ubiquitin-mediated proteasomal degradation and freeing NF-κB to translocate into the nucleus.

Investigators studying bovine immunology, inflammation biology, and livestock disease models apply this kit to track NFKBIA dynamics in cattle specimens. Relevant applications include research on bovine mastitis, respiratory infections such as bovine respiratory disease complex, endotoxin challenge studies, and metabolic or stress-response work in dairy and beef cattle. The assay produces a colorimetric readout on a microplate and ships as a complete kit containing pre-coated wells, detection antibodies, and standard references sufficient for 96 Assays.

Samples should be processed promptly after collection or kept frozen until batch analysis, in line with general immunoassay practice. The product is configured for research use only and supports laboratory professionals in veterinary immunology, animal science, and translational bovine health research.
