The Bovine MCP-1 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is built around a matched-pair antibody system that quantifies monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (CCL2), a key CC-chemokine driving monocyte recruitment during inflammation in cattle. Researchers studying bovine mastitis, respiratory disease, and reproductive inflammation rely on CCL2 measurement because circulating levels rise sharply during Gram-negative bacterial infection and endotoxin challenge, making it a useful biomarker for innate immune activation in dairy and beef herds.

Veterinary specimens such as jugular- or tail-vein-derived fractions or matched EDTA plasma are processed using a 100 ul sample volume compatible with standard biobank workflows. The capture antibody is specific to bovine CCL2, with no significant cross-reactivity with related bovine chemokines including IL-8, RANTES, or MIP-1α, which preserves signal specificity when measuring inflamed cohorts. Sensitivity is reported at 4.69 pg/mL, with a working detection range of 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL, spanning both baseline and acute-phase concentrations in bovine circulation.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP, wash concentrate, TMB substrate, and stop solution. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and frozen, and the kit should be stored refrigerated with reagents protected from light to preserve binding activity across the full run.
