Lipase maturation factor 1 (LMF1) is an endoplasmic reticulum transmembrane chaperone essential for the proper folding, dimerization, and secretion of both lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic lipase. Loss-of-function mutations in the LMF1 gene cause combined lipase deficiency, a rare autosomal recessive disorder presenting with severe hypertriglyceridemia, eruptive xanthomas, and recurrent pancreatitis. Quantifying LMF1 expression in bovine serum and plasma therefore supports research into lipid metabolism, dairy cow metabolic disorders such as ketosis and fatty liver, and comparative studies of vascular lipid handling.

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is supplied as a complete 96-well microplate kit, validated for bovine reactivity with a colorimetric readout typically measured at 450 nm. The assay uses a pre-coated capture antibody together with a biotinylated detection antibody and a streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and a standard curve is generated from recombinant LMF1 reference standards. Recommended sample volumes are 50–100 µl per well, with a total assay run time of approximately 3.5 hours.

For best results, store all reagents refrigerated at 2–8 °C, protect the TMB substrate from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of prepared samples. Intended for research use only.
