Bovine LALBA (Alpha-lactalbumin) ELISA Kit (BOFI00113)

Assay Genie offers a competitive ELISA kit for the accurate quantification of alpha-lactalbumin (LALBA) levels in bovine serum, plasma, and milk samples. Using a competitive ELISA format coated with antibody, the kit supports research in milk composition, lactation biology, and dairy product development. Alpha-lactalbumin is a key protein in bovine milk that plays a crucial role in lactose production and has been associated with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

The assay reports a sensitivity of < 1.875 ng/ml and a range of 3.125-200 ng/ml. In spike-and-recovery testing, serum (n=5) yielded 86-104% recovery with an average of 93%, EDTA plasma (n=5) gave 89-104% averaging 97%, and heparin plasma (n=5) gave 88-105% averaging 97%. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was demonstrated at 93-101%, 87-105% and 86-98% in serum; 87-100%, 96-100% and 87-98% in EDTA plasma; and 80-95%, 81-95% and 80-95% in UFH plasma. Precision is reported as intra-assay CV <8% and inter-assay CV <10%.

The workflow uses a biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate development, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. The kit is intended for storage at 4°C for 6 months and is for research use only.
