Bovine L-asparaginase (ASRGL1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of bovine L-asparaginase (ASRGL1). The kit targets Isoaspartyl peptidase/L-asparaginase (UniProt Q32LE5), also referred to as asparaginase-like protein 1, beta-aspartyl-peptidase, isoaspartyl dipeptidase, and L-asparagine amidohydrolase. Reactivity is limited to bovine samples.

The assay uses colorimetric detection and is intended for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant bovine isoaspartyl peptidase/L-asparaginase. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 26pg/mL. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery values are provided with the kit.

ASRGL1 has both L-asparaginase and beta-aspartyl peptidase activity, catalysing L-asparagine + H2O = L-aspartate + NH3, and may be involved in the production of L-aspartate, an excitatory neurotransmitter in some brain regions. The protein functions as a heterodimer of an alpha and beta chain generated by autocleavage, and is located in the cytoplasm and the midpiece of the sperm tail. Research area: metabolism.
