Bovine GHRL (Ghrelin) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this competitive ELISA is coated with antigen and intended for the quantitative measurement of Ghrelin (GHRL) in bovine samples. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay reports a sensitivity of 1.875 pg/mL and a measuring range of 3.125-200 pg/mL. The kit is stored sealed at 2-8°C and must not be cryopreserved.

Ghrelin is a peptide hormone implicated in appetite regulation, growth hormone secretion, energy balance, metabolism, gastrointestinal motility and glucose homeostasis. Measuring Ghrelin in cattle supports research into bovine nutrition, growth and metabolic function. Reported linearity (n=10) for serum is 86-103% at 1:2, 85-96% at 1:4 and 88-100% at 1:8; EDTA plasma 87-104%, 83-97%, 82-100%; heparin plasma 88-105%, 85-100%, 92-100%. Mean recovery is 97% for serum, 95% for EDTA plasma and 90% for heparin plasma.

The workflow covers reagent and plate preparation, binding of standard or sample with biotin-labeled antibody, washing, TMB colour development in the dark, stop reaction, and absorbance reading at 450 nm.
