The Bovine Electron transfer flavoprotein subunit beta (ETFB) Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is intended for research use only and quantitatively measures ETFB in bovine serum and plasma samples by colorimetric detection on a 96-well microplate. ETFB is the beta subunit of the mitochondrial heterodimeric electron transfer flavoprotein that shuttles electrons from multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenases to ETF-ubiquinone oxidoreductase in the respiratory chain. Investigators use this kit to study bovine models of multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (MADD, also known as glutaric acidemia type II), fatty acid β-oxidation disorders, and mitochondrial energy metabolism. Reagents should be stored refrigerated at 2–8 °C; reconstituted standards are best aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and the kit components retain activity throughout the stated shelf life when handled as directed. The standard protocol uses 100 µl of sample or standard per well, with absorbance read on a microplate reader at 450 nm. Each kit contains a pre-coated 96-well plate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP concentrate, lyophilized recombinant standards, wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop solution sufficient for 96 assays.
