Description

A high-quality Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of C-reactive protein (CRP) in bovine samples. CRP is an important marker of inflammation and infection in cattle, with elevated levels indicating potential health issues. The kit is designed for researchers and veterinarians working in animal health, supporting work on conditions such as respiratory infections, mastitis, and metabolic disorders.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a sensitivity of 23.438 ng/mL and a measuring range of 39.063–2500 ng/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Linearity in serum (n=5) ranged from 86–101% at 1:2, 87–100% at 1:4, and 86–105% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) ranged from 86–98%, 86–100%, and 84–101%; heparin plasma (n=5) ranged from 80–98%, 82–89%, and 82–99%. Spike-and-recovery testing returned averages of 93% for serum (88–101%), 92% for EDTA plasma (87–99%), and 97% for heparin plasma (87–104%). The target protein is also known by the synonyms PTX1 and Pentraxin 1.

The protocol runs through reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB color development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution is added. Kit components should be stored at 2–8°C, away from direct light where indicated, and the reagents remain stable for 12 months under these conditions.
