Description

A Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the accurate quantification of Cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor (IGF2R) levels in bovine samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit offers high sensitivity and specificity, with reproducible results suited to a variety of research applications.

IGF2R, also known as the cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor, plays a role in cellular processes such as growth regulation and lysosomal enzyme trafficking. Dysregulation of IGF2R has been implicated in diseases including cancer and metabolic disorders, making it a useful biomarker for studying these conditions and developing potential therapies. Functionally, IGF2R acts as a positive regulator of T-cell coactivation by binding DPP4, and is involved in the transport of phosphorylated lysosomal enzymes from the Golgi complex and the cell surface to lysosomes. The protein localises to the lysosome membrane as a single-pass type I membrane protein and has a molecular weight of 274,529 Da.

The assay employs a colorimetric detection method with a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.089 ng/mL. Listed synonyms for the target include 300 kDa mannose 6-phosphate receptor, Insulin-like growth factor 2 receptor, Insulin-like growth factor II receptor, MPR 300, IGF-II receptor, CD222, CI Man-6-P receptor and M6P. The kit is supplied in a solid phase format, intended for storage at -20°C and shipped at +4°C, and is for research use only within the immunology research area.
